Bank Negara Malaysia published the BNM Statement of Assets & Liabilities - 28 August 2026 on 7 September 2026, and the figures describe the position as at 28 August rather than the publication day.

Total assets were RM624,758,011,898 in the 28 August statement, against RM637,366,063,322 in the 14 August statement published on 21 August 2026.

Within the assets section of the balance sheet, the line for gold and foreign exchange and other reserves including SDR was RM534,653,422,104 at 28 August 2026, against RM537,772,163,395 at 14 August. This balance-sheet line is separate from the dollar table of gross international reserves.

In that separate dollar table, foreign currency reserves were USD116.6 billion at 28 August 2026 against USD117.2 billion at 14 August, while other reserve assets were USD2.3 billion against USD2.4 billion. The IMF reserve position was USD1.3 billion, SDR was USD6.0 billion and gold was USD5.8 billion in both statements. These are the figures disclosed by BNM at its reported decimal precision.

HashObserver reads the disclosed composition without attributing the entire change in gross reserves to particular components. Foreign currency reserves and other reserve assets differ between the statements, while the reported IMF reserve position, SDR and gold values are unchanged. Because the dollar components are reported to a single decimal place, the rounded figures do not provide an exact decomposition of the change in gross international reserves. Each statement is a dated stock position: neither states a cause, judges reserve adequacy or gives a later value.
